Magazine cover analysis
This magazine cover for the highly luxurious designer brand, Gucci, has an animated style to it inspired by the very famous Japanese Anime, Jojos bizarre adventures, it includes characters from the show including Jolyne Kujo. This targets an audience of the fan base of the show which is mainly Japanese manga enjoyers also connected too with the use of Japanese writing but also many people from all ages and ethnicities as this anime is very famous all over the world with its unique style and western pop culture references. The main image is Jolyne wearing a Gucci outfit which connects the brand with the show expanding the target audience. The bright colour scheme allows the magazine cover to be eye catching to the audience, the cover line of Jolyne, Fly High with GUCCI, shows that they are in an airport with a Gucci bag to hold their luggage.

cover contains a main image of Tyler the Creator, a famous rap artist who is
known for his very creative and unique fashion ability and dress sense, the
artist is sat on a swing which can show a relaxed chill feel to the magazine
cover. The way the main image overlaps the masthead indicates how famous the
company Vogue are and how they don’t need their full name to be shown within
magazine covers due to their success and how famous they are. The main
coverline is ‘TYLER, THE CREATOR originality at its finest’ also supports the
artists one-of-a-kind style and many people look up to him in the fashion
world. One of the other coverlines says, ‘the rise and the rise of the grandpa
style’ this is because Tylers outfit within this cover is a plain brown suit
and shirt and tie combo with a flat cap, which to many would be seen as boring
but due to the status of the figure wearing it, people tend to like it a lot
more. The colour scheme is kept very simple, a small section of red stating #1,
and the rest of the colour coming from the main image which highlights it.
This magazine cover shows famous rapper ‘PLAYBOI CARTI’ wearing a very dark outfit which represents his whole kind of theme within his music which is dark and ‘opium’ which is the name of his record label as well as his dress sense. The colour scheme of this magazine cover is mainly black and white with some of the coverlines and masthead being in yellow which creates a sleek look to the magazine. The main image of Playboi Carti overlaps the masthead ‘billboard’, with his head over the O which could be easily made out what the missing letter is as his head is the same shape as the letter as well as the fact billboard is a famous magazine. The magazine also contains the year 2024 on the top right corner to indicate the year it is from. The cover also includes 3 smaller coverlines including small teasers about other R&B and hip-hop artists.
