Website analysis
British Vogue- https://www.vogue.co.uk/
The British
vogue website includes a subscription part of their website to receive free
vogue newsletters and invites to exclusive reader events, and the best
subscription offers all by just using your email address. Their website
includes sections such as, Fashion, Beauty, Arts & Lifestyle, Runway,
Shopping, News, Video, Vogue Shop and Vogue business, which shows the wide
variety of categories a fashion magazine website has to offer which you
wouldn’t think it would have. The home page of the British Vogue website
contains top stories in the fashion world which keeps up to date. The website
does expand their audience slightly to an active audience. The website has a
sleek minimalistic design like a lot of their magazines themselves which must
be something vogue like to stick too, being loud but in a simple way with their
fonts, layouts, colour schemes and more. British Vogue has a substantial social
media presence, with 8.4 million Instagram followers, they also have a high engagement
rate, and approximately 67% female audience. They also have strong performance
across platforms like YouTube and digital media.
GQ- https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/
The GQ website similarly to the British Vogue
one contains many sections, these include, Fashion, Grooming, Culture, Watches,
Lifestyle, Fitness, GQ Sports, Recommends and Video. Which shows that the GQ
target audience is a more masculine audience shown through the grooming,
watches and sports categories which are more stereotypically male dominant
categories. The home page of the GQ website includes top stories, which are not
all about fashion, it allows the audience to expand further to more people as
it includes the top stories in the world right now as well as the latest
fashion news e.g. the winner of the BFC/GQ Designer Fashion Fund 2025. The home
pages main image is of Jodie Comer which is the GQ Heroes part of the home page
which is the first thing you see when you open the website as well as
advertisement for the GQ Summer Grooming Box. GQs website also has subscription
offers which allows for you to get every issue of GQ delivered to your door for
a monthly fee. GQ boasts over 42 million followers across its global social
media platforms. The brand generates approximately 70 million monthly video views
across its social media platforms. GQ hosts specific events which drive substantial
social engagement, for example, the 2023 GQ Men of the Year awards which
generated 65 million social video views.
Teen
Vogue-https://www.teenvogue.com/
The Teen
vogue website is obviously the version of the regular, well known, Vogue, but
for the teenage demographic. The Teen Vogue website contains several categories
in the bar at the top of the site which are, Style, Politics, Culture,
Identity, Video, Summit and Shopping, these topics are aimed to expand the
knowledge of the teenage viewership to things such as politics as well as the
top stories page which is the first one you see when opening the website, also
expands the awareness of teens viewing the website as it includes stories and
events that are taking place in the world and any news which may be important.
It also includes many trendy artists and figures who connect with the target
audience of young individuals. Within the shopping tab there are TikTok viral
gifts which are aimed to impress a teenage girl which shows the audience of
this magazine is mainly female but also includes male parts e.g. the best suits
for men to wear for prom which shows the level of audience as young as prom is
for young people. Teen vogue has a significant social media presence, citing
approximately 15.6 million to 17 million social media followers across platforms
like TikTok, Instagram, twitter, Pinterest and Facebook. Alongside 22.9 million
to 31.3 million monthly video views.
